The day begins at the Ashue yard office with the morning briefing. Then it’s off to the BNSF interchange at Wesley Junction if we have incoming cars to pick up. Usually the Farron siding is used for sorting the cars before continuing west.  Sometimes a tank car or two is delivered to the fertilizer dealer in Harrah. Every day empty lumber, log, and/or chip cars continue to Yakama Forest Product’s mill west of White Swan, where it can take one or more hours of switching to set the mill up for another day.  The loads are gathered up and we head east 21 miles back to Wesley Junction.  The day finishes anywhere from two to ten hours later depending on how many freight cars we have to move.  The majority of runs are four to five hours in length.

Cameras and questions are welcome, but you MUST STAY IN THE CAB at all times. Outside photos are OK at Ashue before or after the run.

The freight train runs every week day, except holidays.

Reservations are required two weeks in advance.

ONLY $80.00 (tax included)
