Northern Pacific Railway Museum Regular Season: Tuesday, May 1 to Sunday, October 14, 2018: Thursday to Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM, Other days by appointment, call (509) 854-4159. Special event days and hours vary depending on the event.
Museum Work Days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday: year around. Call Jerry Boekholder (509) 865-2409 or Doug Shearer (509) 854-1971 for information. NP 1364 crew usually works Friday evening and Saturday. Call to confirm, especially during winter when work dates are cancelled occasionally.
Work/History Weekends: Volunteering, BBQ and Northern Pacific History lecture: April 13-15, 2018, September 7-9, 2018, October 12-14, 2018: Stop by and give a hand with the many projects at the museum. New volunteers will be guided through various projects each work day. A barbeque will be held at the depot along with an evening lecture co-sponsored by the Northern Pacific Railway Historical Association. For those that want to come early and stay late we get together Friday evening and have further work in progress on Sunday. Limited accommodations are available--click for further information.
19th Annual Railroad Show: May 5, 2018: Caboose rides, speeder rides, visit our new car, NP 393, ex-Spokane Club.
7th Annual Dinner Train to Nowhere: Saturday, September 8, 2018: The Toppenish Lion's Club holds an annual fundraiser in conjunction with the railroad museum. The museum provides the venue; the Lion's Club provides their usual fantastic steak dinner at "Nowhere", the false front western town in the east yard. Speeder rides and hand pump car rides are a part of the fun. For tickets contact Jerry Boekholder at (509) 865-2409.
Pumpkin Run Saturday, October 27, 2018, 10-4 PM. This event features a caboose ride to Nowhere, pump car rides, museum tours, and a free pumpkin for each child. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
13th Annual Toy Train Christmas at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum: Saturdays and Sundays, November 24-25, December 1-2, 8-9 & 15-16, 2018 10:00-4:00 PM. Take a short caboose ride to the "North Pole" to see Santa Claus. Over 40 toy trains of many sizes (Z, N, HO, S, O and G gauge) operate around decorated Christmas trees. Areas are set aside for children to set up and operate children's trains and There is a craft area where kids can make Christmas decorations. Hot chocolate and cookies are offered to everyone. Admission $8 for adults, $5 for children. Photographs with Santa Claus will be printed on site for extra charge.
