A local passenger train, NP 2151, stops in Toppenish from Yakima. The person in the horse and buggy is awaiting the delivery of newspapers from Yakima to distribute in the area. Behind the depot is Hotel Toppenish. The velocipede parked off track is used for transportation between train runs.  While the train is stopped the conductor picks up a new set of train orders to proceed to the next train block. Orders were communicated by telegraph inside the depot office.
